customers play a prompt on their platform at almost
expiration of calling card PIN saying “your card is
about to expire in 20 seconds, if you would like to
place a collect call or participate in some of our
sponsors promotions, press *1 now”. The B-Leg is dropped
and the call is transferred via VoIP or TDM to the
interactive Voice Portal, which can be branded as an
additional service of the Telecom.
Telecom companies are paid a flat rate per minute
for each call that opts in from their network. It’s a
simple model, no need to manage and administrate the
numerous complexities of both the required IT and
advertising program success rates.
The Portal Citi speech applications
have created unique advertising opportunities with
interactive speech-based ads that offer direct response
options. Users can interact with an audio ad to request
more information, hear sponsor brand ads, receive
targeted e-mail, or even be connected directly to an
advertiser's call center. The unique aspects of opt in
